A failed renewal doesn’t mean a lost subscriber. Apptics retries intelligently and keeps your customer in the loop.

Smart retries

Retry timing adapts to why the payment failed — a card that was declined for insufficient funds is retried on a different schedule than a temporary processing error, based on what’s most likely to succeed for that decline type. When a card is declined in a way that can never succeed (for example a closed account), retries stop immediately instead of burning attempts — the customer is asked to update their payment method instead.

Cards that update themselves

Many failures never happen at all: Apptics checks stored cards with the card networks and refreshes expired or reissued card details automatically before renewal charges — so a customer whose bank sent them a new card keeps renewing without lifting a finger.

Recovery emails

  • Failed payment emails tell the customer when a renewal payment fails — after the first failure, each retry and the final one.
  • Abandoned checkout emails bring back shoppers who left without paying, linking them straight back into their checkout.

Winning back cancelled subscribers

Cancellation isn’t the end either: win-back emails go out automatically after a subscription is cancelled, inviting the customer to restart — recovered subscribers show up in your dashboard like any other.

Seeing recovery performance

Your dashboard’s analytics show recovery outcomes — how many failed payments were saved by retries and how much revenue came back — so you can see the system working.
