The journey, covered
- Left without paying — checkout recovery emails bring shoppers back, linking them straight into the checkout they abandoned.
- Placed an order — an order confirmation goes out when payment succeeds.
- Got a refund — a refund confirmation with the amount returned.
- Has a subscription — the full lifecycle: renewal reminders before a charge, renewal payment receipts, payment failure notices (the first failure, each retry and the final one), skipped order and resumed subscription confirmations, and cancellation confirmations.
- Cancelled — a win-back offer invites them to come back.
- Signing in to the customer portal — an email with their sign-in link.
You’re in control
Every email has its own Live/Off switch on the Email page, so you send exactly the set you want. Emails that send on a schedule — like checkout recovery or renewal reminders — have their timing under Configure. The portal sign-in email is always on, because customers need it to sign in.Make an email your own
Every email starts with a standard design in your brand name and logo. Its Design card on the Email page shows what customers get; Preview opens it full size, on desktop or mobile.- On the Email page, pick an email and click Customize design. The Designer opens on the standard design: click Customize design there to make your own copy, or choose New email design… from the design menu to start from a ready-made design.
- Change the words, images, buttons and colors. Blocks like Order Items, Cart Items, Order Details, Subscription Summary and Discount Code fill in from each customer’s real order, cart or subscription.
- Use Insert variable to add things like the customer’s first name or the order number. Switch between Sample customer and Variables to see the email filled in or with the variables named.
- Click Use for this email to start sending your design. Later edits go out when you click Publish changes.
Some emails exist for one link: the checkout link in checkout recovery, the
offer link in win-back, the sign-in link in the portal sign-in email. The
Designer marks the email in red until it has that link, and it can’t be
published without it.
