You decide how checkout clicks on your storefront are handled: which products check out on Apptics, whether to split traffic between Apptics and Shopify’s checkout, and how to switch everything back to Shopify in one step.

Choose which products use Apptics checkout

You don’t have to move your whole store at once. Try Apptics checkout on one hero product, a new launch, or a single collection while everything else keeps checking out on Shopify.
  1. Go to Settings › Checkout.
  2. Under Checkout routing, find Which products use Apptics checkout.
  3. Choose one:
    • All products — every product can check out on Apptics.
    • Specific products — only the products you choose. The rest of your store stays on Shopify checkout.
    • Collections — products in the Shopify collections you choose.
  4. For Specific products or Collections, pick them in the window that opens and click Save.
The card then lists what you chose. Click Edit to change it, or choose All products to send every product to Apptics checkout again. Changes reach your storefront within a few minutes. With Collections, products you add to those collections in Shopify switch over within an hour, and products you take out go back to Shopify checkout — there’s nothing to update in Apptics. Shoppers buying anything you haven’t chosen check out on Shopify exactly as before. That includes Buy it now, which takes them straight to Shopify’s checkout for the product they clicked.

Carts with chosen and other products

When a cart holds a product you chose alongside one you didn’t, the Carts with chosen and other products setting decides where it goes:
  • Use Apptics checkout (the default) — the whole cart checks out on Apptics, including products you didn’t choose.
  • Use Shopify checkout — only carts with nothing but your chosen products use Apptics checkout.

See which checkout a product uses

While you’ve chosen specific products or collections, each product’s page in Products shows a Checkout card: Apptics checkout or Shopify checkout, and why — for example, the collection that brings it to Apptics. Click Change in Settings to change it.

Choosing a split

Under Traffic split, set the share of storefront checkout clicks that should go to Apptics checkout. Use it to roll out gradually — start with a small percentage, compare results, and increase when you’re confident. Your dashboard shows the split’s performance over time, including orders on each side. If you’ve chosen specific products or collections, the split applies to the carts that can use Apptics checkout, and its click and order counts aren’t shown.

If chosen products are deleted in Shopify

Products or collections you delete in Shopify drop off your list. If none are left, Checkout routing warns you that no carts go to Apptics checkout — choose products or collections again, or switch to All products.

Pausing instantly

You can switch all traffic back to Shopify checkout at any time with one setting — useful as an instant fallback. Shoppers mid-checkout are never stranded; new clicks simply route to Shopify.
