# How subscriptions work

> Recurring products, per-product plans, and renewals

Apptics handles the full subscription lifecycle: a shopper subscribes at
checkout, and renewals are charged automatically on schedule — no shopper
action needed.

## Per-product plans

Each product follows its own subscription plan — frequency and pricing
mirror the selling plans you've set up in Shopify. A cart can mix one-time
and subscription items in a single checkout.

## Two subscription types

* **Refill** — every renewal creates a new order for fulfillment
  (consumables, replenishment).
* **VIP** — renewals charge the membership without creating a fulfillment
  order each cycle (memberships, clubs).

## Staying on top of renewals

The subscriptions area of your dashboard shows every subscription with its
status and next billing date, plus a calendar view of upcoming renewals so
you can see revenue before it happens.
