# Let shoppers edit quantities

> Shoppers can change item quantities right on the checkout page

Shoppers can adjust how many of an item they're buying without leaving
checkout — totals, shipping, and tax update instantly.

## How it works for shoppers

Each line item in the order summary shows quantity controls. Stepping the
quantity up or down recalculates the order total on the spot, so what they
see is always what they'll be charged.

## Showing or hiding quantities

Quantity display is controlled per checkout design:

1. Open the checkout designer and select your **Order Summary** block.
2. In the inspector, toggle **Show Quantity** on or off.
3. **Publish** to make the change live.

## Good to know

* Prices always come from your live catalog — changing a quantity re-prices
  the order server-side, so totals can't drift from what you actually charge.
